The existing structure on this lot no longer served the family, but the location did. Rather than force a renovation onto a house fighting the family's needs, starting over was the more honest path. Starting fresh meant the residence could be built around the family's actual priorities instead of a previous owner's decisions.
A cream palette and a wood-toned island give the kitchen a soft, collected feel. Starting from a cleared lot meant there were no existing plumbing lines or structural walls to design around.
A checkerboard floor and dark cabinetry give the laundry room real personality instead of leaving it as an afterthought, and a marble countertop detail carries through to the powder room.
